Google is experimenting with a new feature they’re calling the Wonder Wheel.
Here’s a search to try:
*Go to Google and type in Mary Higgins Clark readalikes
*Hit Enter
*Click Show Options on the top left
*Click Wonder Wheel on the bottom left
Now do the same thing using the words if you like Mary Higgins Clark.

Heidi, Kristen,
I too LOVE the literature map and will continue to use it instead, I think. (And thanks, Kristen, for the other URL as well.) Part of that is just because I try to avoid Google when I can–it’s so omnipresent that it freaks me out a little bit. But, I am a Luddite at heart, so that’s just me.
I enjoyed playing with this! However, I agree with Heidi that literature map is a bit better at this point… When I did the initial search on Mary Higgins Clark, I was surprised to find Jennifer Cruisie and Rosamunde Pilcher — two authors I have really enjoyed, but do not consider to be mystery writers primarily.
I would add the site: http://www.whatshouldireadnext.com/search
Not quite the same concept of “readalikes” — but more of “compatibility” I guess…?
However, knowing Google — I imagine the Wonder Wheel will only get better and better!
I put in Ian Rankin after doing the Mary Higgins Clark search and she stayed as a readalike????
Think Literature Maps is much better : http://literature-map.com/
